How wrong is it to be proud that you've just been pee'd on. Granted it was after the first totally naked bath for Tori, but still. Is it wrong?
I'm a Slacker, but for a good reason
May 18, 2010
So I'm a HUGE slacker but I do have a good reasoning for it. Actually a couple of reasons.
1. I've been getting little sleep
2. I've been instructed by the doc t =o stay away from stairs & sadly downstairs is where the computer is 3. I'm typing one handed & getting somewhat fast at it...not entirely accurate but faster
AND finally
4. Did I mention I gave birth recently to a beauty? Granted its been a bit since she came, but still she's here isn't that enough?
So, here's the scoop. I started having contractions in the early hours of 7th. I honestly didn't think they were real contractions, granted it hurt enough that I cried AND they were coming every 5 minutes or so by the time hubby was ready to go to work. Unfortunately for me Hubs forced me to go to the hospital...just in case he said, I'd rather hear they were false contractions before going into work.
Crappy for me they weren't false, but the upside, can I say it? I'm gonna anyway...Epidurals are wonderful!!!
We got to the hospital about 9am, Doc came & broke my water at 11am, she appeared at 3:19pm. Mind you, when Doc first checked us out he did give the option of going home, but promptly added that I'd be back later because she's coming no matter what. If I stayed the upside was I could get the epidural faster...so of course we chose to stay. Granted we came with only a bag, no cameras aside from our phones. That was how sure I was that this was not the day she would be arriving.
So, in a nutshell we have a new wee one!!! She weighed 7 pounds 2 ounces, 20 inches long and has (according to the doc & nurses) LONG eyelashes and LONG red hair.
Once I figure out how to do a slide show I'll post more pictures of her.

Update as of late
Apr 20, 2010
Not much has changed since my last update as far as the baby goes. She still doesn't have a name, but we do have a crib & dresser. Mind you they are still in boxes sitting in seperate rooms. One of these days we'll unpack them, but until then we have plenty of time because we have a bassinet!!
We now go weekly to see the doctor until she comes, which is only 4 weeks away...less then a month now at least according to her due date of the 19th. Doc doesn't say much, but what I do know is she's facing head down and I'm normal. Maybe this week I'll ask if he can guesstimate how big she is.
We did start our pond up last week and MAN is it nasty!! I'm trying to figure out how I can still get in the pond and clean it to a degree without bending over the whole time. So basically I need to find a stool that I don't care if it gets slimy and wet. As far as we can tell we've only lost 2 fish during the winter. The fish have grown too!! Even our 3 itty bitty ones we had in the top pond survived!! Maybe this winter we'll leave the filter on so it isn't quite as nasty.
Any suggestions as to how to avoid slimy algea growing as quick or how to clean a pond without catching all the fish? Really any advice would be lovely as we're too stubborn to take classes or get an actual book that tells you how to do things. We'd rather take the unkown path for things!

Funny Memory Story
Apr 1, 2010
Yes my memory sucks, and it seems to have gotten even worse. Listen to my tale and be your own judge.
Sunday morning I have a monthly meeting at 10am that goes until 11am or so. Well this last Sunday was no different, it got out around 11:15 and I get asked by the clerk, secretary, I don't recall his title...but Bro Mike asked if hubby and I would say the prayers in Sacrement. I then proceed to say "can't hubby say both of them? I really hate getting in front of people, they scare me too much" and so on. So after a few moments of banter I accept to have us say the prayers.
12:00 I go home, eat something cause I'm STARVING, wait for hubby to return from fast offerings proceed to go to church at 12:45.
1:00 I'm in YW, teach class.
2:00 have my YW presidency meeting, meet our new closet (which we've been highly anticipaiting for about 6 months now and start forming plans on when to move closets)
2:45 go to Sacrement, sit down on our bench. Hear the announcement of my name saying the opening prayer..."Oh Crap" I tell no lie, it was a verbal oh crap moment and the lovely Mrs. B who sits in front of me laughs, as I proceed to inform her I completely forgot we were doing the prayers and I haven't even told hubby. Mind you, Mrs. B was in the morning meeting with me and heard me get asked to say them.
So, how GREAT is my memory, huh!

Yes, we are still alive & kicking
I've decided I must be horrible at sharing news. Since I don't see many things changing at our house I don't think there's any news worth sharing. Granted, my stomach is getting bigger and we're both still avidly working at avoiding the reality that in a month and a half (or so) we'll be parents...at least I am. yet a part of me still thinks that I'm a child myself...I'm never gonna grow up!! Yet in the same respect I'm also attempting to slowly get things ready for Little One. Sadly I think its been too slow as I've had the room "almost" empty for many months now.
BUT...hold your horses and sit back down...we did order our crib and it should be in town in a week or there abouts. OK, so I truly forgot when we actually ordered it and shipping takes 7-14 days to arrive. Sooo maybe next week we'll have a crib in the room instead of just a bassinet and an ironing board and a few outfits hanging in the closet.
I arrived yesterday at work with a present on my desk and I believe my reaction was the wrong one. So sorry guys! Instead of being excited and jumping for joy I shrugged away from it, pretending it wasn't there. I'm still in denial with a few things, if you haven't noticed. So Thank You for the gift!!! We now have a play pen we can lock little one in.
I also learned what "you're right on track" meant from our Doc. Apparently when they measure your stomach, the measurement is considered normal if you're within 2 numbers (inches I think it is) either higher or lower than the current week your on. So yesterday was our 34 week check up (WOW I know) and we measured within the appropriate ranges to be considered normal. No idea what the measurement was, but we're still normal. Then we heard the heartbeat and were sent on our way. Which is about the just of our latest string of appointments. We'll see what the next one brings.
