Merlin
Oct 24, 2011
Just a quick blurb...Tori & I have been watching Merlin on netflix for the last while. Friday she comes up to me and says " merrrin" in the gravelly voice the dragon uses on the opening credits. Is this a hint that we watch Merlin a bit too much or that she thoroughly loves the show as much as I do!! One of these days I'm going to try and record her saying it. Seriously SO CUTE!!
Family Life
Aug 24, 2011
So...I'm a huge slacker, what is else new.
I've come to decide that not many people blog anymore. Most people either do nothing or facebook. I tend to be on the side of nothing. When I'm home, I'm home and don't want to be in front of the computer but with my family doing a project or playing with dear Tori (who is growing like a weed).
We have been busy as of late working on our deck in the backyard and just spending time with each other. Good news...our deck is almost done. We have 1 plank left to lay (after some minor adjustments to our exhaust vents) and all our railings. Possibly this week we'll start building the railings after we decide where to put the posts.
We're just about finished with a bout of crappiness at our house. Tori got hand-foot-mouth disease from daycare who in turn gave it to her daddy! Yes, this is a child illness and my grown husband got it...such luck I know. The week prior to Tori getting sick I had my foot shaved, which "hopefully" I can lose the boot on Friday and wear normal shoes on both feet!!
Work is going good and busy for both parties. After two months of day care I've come to realize day care is expensive!! Basically they get one of my checks each month which isn't that great because I'm not even breaking even. I thought we'd be able to at least break even with me going back FT vs PT at work and the cost of day care, but WOW, was I wrong. So I have the cost of it lurking over me and how we can juggle costs.
I swear Tori is in love with our back door neighbor's son. Anytime she see's him she HAS to go outside...its so cute! But in Tori news, her hair is getting long enough to do pigtails with, not yet a pony tail but its getting there. She is running everywhere I swear and mimicks everything. She says words but I never remember what they are. She does know a few words in sign language so she can let us know if she wants more to eat or drink.
She really is a wonderful girl and we are so lucky to have her! A few recent pictures

We're alive still
Jan 6, 2011
So I've decided I'm just horrible at keeping in touch with everyone. Even my own family, let alone the blogging world, or the facebook world, or email friends. Basically if you don't live with me or tend my darling daughter you won't see me or my family. Sorry.
Stuff as of late in our lives...sorry I'm lazy and like lists at the moment, plus its coming up to being 11:30pm and come tomorrow Tori will be an official 8 month old. I'm shocked time has flown so quickly.
-Tori loves to walk - granted she needs at least 1 hand to hold onto, sometimes a leg as well but she does pretty well.
- Tori will scoot about on the floor. She's better at scooting backwards than going forwards
- Hubby swears Tori is saying mama, but I'm hesitant to agree its on purpose
- I'm still working 2 days in the office & rest from home
- We are CTR5 teachers in our ward which is intersting with Tori, plus its the same kids we taught when we were doing the nursery...odd I know!
- I still don't know what I want to be when I grow up
- I have all these Grand plans about posting Tori pictures, but alas I'm never at the computer with the pictures loaded on them
- Hubby is working four 10 hour days & it sucks, but he gets Tori all day Wednesday while I go to work.
- Trying to decide what to do with work and Tori. Let alone finding the happy medium for everyone.
(On a little rant, I can't help but feel guilty for everything. When I'm home I LOVE being home with Tori, except when she's fussy and won't go down for her nap. Yet when I'm at work I'm good cause I know Tori is with Grandparents or Kollin. Sad thing is to have Kollin continue being with her means we don't see him until bath time the rest of the week and it truly sucks!! I keep waivering on a decision with work & don't know how to let bosses down when I know what they'd prefer me to do. Then when I think I know what I want to do I wimp out in telling bosses cause I'm scared and can't decide if its the right thing to do or not.)
- Ummmm not sure what else is happening...my mind is shutting down though so I'll end with what I have. Hope it makes sense and sorry for the bits that don't. But thats what you get when I don't proofread what I write. Plus I keep yawning which then makes my eyes water so I can't read things.
Anywho...we're still alive & kicking. I'm stressing myself out with worrying over the same things, hubby is doing good & Tori is a wonderful & happy girl still.

We're Alive!
Oct 25, 2010
Just a quick note, stating that we are all alive still.
Yes it has been a while, yes some things are still hectic, yes Tori is sleeping somewhat better at night, no she still hasn't rolled over.
She has however laughed, it is the most precious thing ever!! She LOVES to grab hair, stick her tongue out, kick her legs, suck on my mugs straw!?! and she is doing better at eating her cereal. We are now doing cereal twice a day, once in the morning around 10 and again at night around 7:30.
A few things of happiness, aside from Tori;
- Tori was blessed on October 17th!!
- We made Salsa!!
- We made Salsa almost all on our own (we had to call the Experts for a few things) Thanks Mom & Dad B
- We have 29 pints of Salsa
- Oh, wait we have 28 pints (we ate one last night)
- We're hoping to make more this week if our loving farmers are able to grab a box for us!!
- Halloween is a few days away and we're still in search of a costume (or deciding what we're doing)
- Realization that we HAVE to celebrate holidays now has hit...dang I need decorations!!
- Sleep is slowly coming back to all of us
- Work is asking I come back Full Time in January (this scares me for Tori's sake)
- On the hunt of a good day care or other possibilites 2 - 3 days a week for beloved Tori (this makes me sad )
- We've decided to take a week off in November!!!
Thanks for listening to my wee rant of the happenings at our house, I realized it had been a couple of months and thought I'd better list something while I had the chance.

Happenings at our House
Aug 26, 2010
Some things have stayed the same, some things have changed.
Of course part of the change has been Tori. We went to the doc today as I thought she might have an earache because she has been grumpy & pulling on her ear. Which is not normal for her. So, I learned that she weighs 12.8 pounds, is 23 inches long and has a head measurement of 39.5; not entirely sure what the head measurement is in, but there ya go. Those are her stats. And, good news is she is perfectly healthy and just going through a phase.
Another change has been a sad one of late. Over the last week and a half most of our fish have died. As of today we have a whopping 2 left alive and I think one of them is on its last fin. Not sure what it is that truly was the death bringer to our fish. It could have the chemical I put in the top pond to kill the string algae, it could have been my failure to clean it weekly like I used to (dang child taking up all my time), or it could have been the combination of having 3 snakes invade their territory too. Not sure if the snakes would have done anything to them or left anything bad in the pond...but whatever the cause, death is visiting the pond.
Otherwise, we're doing good. Tori is enjoying the day she spends with Gramma & Grampa once a week, as well as visiting with Miss Heather for half a day each week, not to mention the half day of just her & Daddy time.
Until the next chance, I hope as is well with everyone and just know we love you and miss you all. Sorry, but we have become hermits!!
