I'm normal...so they say

Feb 19, 2010
Yesterday was our 28 week check up....I still don't understand the whole week vs month thing, but thats a tangent for another day.

We sat at the doctors office waiting for him to arrive for a good hour or so since he was running late.  Luckily I didn't have to do the sugar test over again as they drew my blood shortly after we arrived.  The rest was just waiting in the room for him.

Once he did arrive it was done in like 5 minutes, 10 if we were lucky but I don't think it went that long.  We heard the heartbeat after some searching to find her, as well as having our first tape measurement.  Why the tape measurement and the significance of it, I have no idea...but she measured 28, which he said was good.  After the measurements, he is great at asking if we have any questions.  Sadly, we have no idea what kind of questions we should be asking!!

If any of you know what type of questions we should ask, please let us know...we're in the dark here!!

Later in the day I did receive a call back regarding the sugar test, they said I'm normal!!  So to all those who think I'm crazy or losing it, doc says I'm normal!

Update

Feb 10, 2010
Sorry I'm horrid at updating lately.  First off, things are going okay.  Both of us have been sick and I'm to blame.  Honestly not sure where I got the cold from but its stuck around for the last 2 1/2 weeks then I gave it to hubby last week.  So we're being sickies together at home...lucky for hubby he can take stuff to help with it where I on the other hand tend to overdose with cough drops.

This last week was a hard one for us as our dear beloved Grandpa passed away.  The graveside services were wonderful and simple.  I don't think I was to great at comforting hubby as its the first for his side and he's gone through 4+ with me.  It helps that we know of the eternal plan and that one day we'll be able to see Grandpa again.

Oh, also we're HUGE slackers.  Two Saturday's ago we actually attempted to look at baby furniture but I was so miserably sick that hubby took pity on me and took me home after only an hour being gone.  Since then we both have been sick and have not wanted to leave the house or do anything.  Maybe one of these days/weekends we'll get our act together.

I've had to reschedule my doc appointment to a week later in hopes that I'll at least be over the cold as they want to do a sugar test and forewarned me that if I tried drinking the "stuff" while sick that it'd more than likely make me ralph.  Since I haven't done that yet I really don't want to experience it, so I took their advice and postponed.

Oh, another cool splurge I guess was my cell wouldn't charge anymore because of pins missing or something, so I had to get a new phone...which meant hubby had to get a new phone too.  So we both opted to go for iphones...they're fun!!

Otherwise, I think that is it for new stuff with us.

Baby stuff

Jan 19, 2010
Is the world blowing by so fast that you can't catch a breath?  Well it is for me.  Yesterday or Sunday it hit me that in a little over 4 months time there will be another person in my house and I have no idea what to do for preparing for it.

To date, all I've done is sorta clean a room out, it only has an ironing board, loveseat & some shelving stuff left in the room.  We have sorta picked colors out for the room, but its between two colors and right now we're thinking of using them both.  No neither of them are pink as I have a really hard time with pink.  Kinda a light lavendar and almost baby blue...but we have little sample cards of them stuck underneath a picture in the room.  One of these days we might make it to buy paint and holler at our friends to help figure out what to do with the two colors.

I'm trying to be patient and understand that there is probably a lot of stuff I can't really do to prepare before hand, but still I am starting to have days where I freak just a tad, then I forget about it for a few more days, weeks, hopefully months (but I doubt that one).

For those interested, our last doc appointment went fine, this next one I get to have blood drawn and additional tests taken.  Aside from that I don't know.  He said everything is still good, baby is where she should be and we heard the heartbeat, which we've been able to do the last couple of times now so I wonder if thats normal.

Now, some of my wonders are should we do any of the baby classes, are the required or just suggested...does it really help in the heat of the moment? Hmmm...things to ponder as I figure if we do decide on classes then it would be in March or April that we'd take them...let alone who knows how long the classes last, a month or two?

But I'll stop rambling now as on this subject I seem endless and repetitive...at least to myself I am as the same thoughts keep floating around in my nogging.

The news has been told to families today...that its a girl and she'll arrive sometime mid May...or whenever she pleases as girls are finicky and tend to do their own thing.
